On Site Demo
Potential clients are first screened through a free, on-site demo. Kitchen set-up and current diversion practices are reviewed with any questions or concerns addressed. From this screening, Wastenot develops a tailored green bin service that fits seamlessly with the client’s existing practices.
40L black bins with step-lids are placed in office kitchens and near coffee machines. Clients pay a yearly rental fee for the bins. Client-specific signage is posted to educate participants. An employee lunch ‘n learn workshop (with live worm demo!) is offered free of charge as a training and engagement tool.
Servicing occurs on a weekly basis (usually Fridays) and includes switching out the dirty bin and bag for a fresh, clean bin and bag.
Clients receive 10% of the castings (i.e. worm manure – a valuable biofertilizer) produced from their foodscraps, either as personal-sized bags for individual employee use, or as a bulk donation to a local community garden.
Clients receive quarterly diversion reports highlighting the amount of food waste recycled, biofertilizer produced and carbon emissions avoided through their participation in Green Bins Growing service.
